Alex COMA
Alex Coma is an interdisciplinary artist, mystic, and researcher who shares his findings from the invisible world through visual representations that take the forms of multi sensorial installations. His artistic practice is motivated by a desire to update what has for a long time been seen as pseudoscience and to bring new light on many esoteric practices and teachings from Western and Eastern mysticism. His creations therefore become a testimony of his own experiments in the domain of the invisible that he then uses as what could be called “spiritual art therapy” to access his own inner-truths to then showcase to the public.
Each of Alex Coma’s projects has a unique and thorough phase of preparation. He begins by using numerous divinatory tools such as tarot, numerology, and astrology to guide his projects. The goal of this step is to make sure that his art will benefit his spiritual development as well as to foster inspiration in others. Symbols being the main way he uses to communicate his messages, he then proceeds to encode meaning in his art pieces which take various forms such as oil paintings, sculptures, videos, photography, drawings, field recordings and smells. The final result is almost always an immersive installation where viewers are encouraged to circumambulate the gallery as a sort of practice in mindfulness, encouraging their own spiritual journey.

We talk about spiritual art therapy with Alex Coma.
Making art in conjunction with spirituality is the essence of Coma's practice.
Tarot. Meditation. Ritual. Energy. Introspection. Symmetry.
Alex will embark on an odyssey to Spain to begin a project with Nika Fontaine as part of an artistic residency that will be connected with a spiritual retreat center in the following month.
