Matthew Belval, from Granby, lives and works in Montreal.
He sees in the ordinary a fundamentally universal beauty. From graffiti to portraits, he paints with veracity his poignant and raw subjects. In his recent works, he makes tangible the hidden faces of society - the social statutes. He depicts, among other things, the human through the objects he represents.
Belval is currently represented by gallery S16 in Montreal.
